Human Motivation
p Pg .1 Human Motivation Human Motivation is the study of the response a human being has to an external or internal stimulus . Human beings body responds to stimulations motivated by the desire to eat when were hungry , sleep when we are sleepy . We are directing a behavior to a particular goal We must be stimulated to accomplish anything in life . It is important In life to set these goals Motivation is an internal state or condition that is sometimes described as the need for desire , or want . It serves to

activate or
energize human behavior and to give it direction It is the internal state or condition that activates behavior giving it direction Desire or want that energizes and directs goal-oriental behavior Influence of needs and desires on the intensity and direction of
behavior
Emotion is different from motivation in a way that it is not
goal-oriented . Emotions occur as a result of an interaction between
perception of environmental stimulus and hormonal responses to what we
are seeing and the subjective cognitive for these feelings . The
evidence suggests there is a small part of emotions , which are unique
with a specific facial expression . This would imply that they are small
numbers of unique biological responses that are genetically wired to
humans ' facial expressions
This theory also works in reverse , in other words in to
change your feelings (i .e . your physiological functioning ) the first
step you should do is change your facial expression into something
positive . People are motivated to change how they are feeling , they can

and they can change that feeling by changing their facial expression
Most people want to feel happy instead of sad so the most appropriate
expression is to smile A real-life scenario of this is a Bobby is a normal teenage boy
aroused by Suzy , the pretty popular girl in school . Bobby is
immediately stimulated by Suzy 's beauty and personality . He wants to
get to know her better . He is affected by the human motivation of arousal and finds a way to ask Suzy for a date
A second real-life scenario is Suzy procrastinates in calling Bobby
for a date . Her stimulation is zero as well as her self-esteem
she is frightened that Bobby , the cute boy in school will not go out
with her because he doesn 't like her . Three theories of human
motivations can be used here in to motivate Suzy to stop
procrastinating and call Bobby . The first is to use human motivation
theory of arousal . Suzy should apply emotion to see how much she is
really attracted to Bobby
The second human motivation is direction , Suzy should think positive
and join positive groups to boost her self-confidence . If you think
positive , positive things will happen to you . Lastly is the third human
motivation of persistence of behavior . Suzy should obtain the desired
reward , and eliminate threat or negativity , which may stop her from
achieving her appointed goal . -Works Cited-
