at three levels including the federal , state and the local level . The government has ensured that school attendance is compulsory for both primary and secondary levels which are designated elementary and high school respectively . With time there have emerged to different type of school in the country . The development in public school has seen the emergence of urban and suburban schools which differs in different aspects . According to Galston (2008 ) although there are efforts to bridge the gaps , there is and evident equity gap in different aspects which has undermined efforts to achieve equity . In this we are going to review the emerging trend in US education system and the equity gap between the urban and the suburban schools .
