It is an attraction between the people of the same sex (romantic attraction . Homosexuals usually exhibit behaviors based on their identities as homosexuals in the society . There are other forms of orientation as far as sexuality is concerned . These include bisexuality as well as heterosexuality . There are several reasons why a person might opt to be attracted

to another person of the same sex . For example , it has been established that if a person had been sexually abused at any one time in their lifetime , they may end up becoming homosexuals . These incidences might have occurred a long time ago in their childhoods However , the effects follow them up until they become grown ups . Such victimization during the childhood of a person increases the chances of them becoming homosexuals . As it is clear , this is not a persons ' choice rather than due to the circumstances that might have occurred in their lives . People also have different views regarding homosexuality . This has however been seen as a deviant behavior in the United States . It has continued to raise a lot of questions especially from religious groups and other citizens who are opposed to it (Siker , pg . 15
