Homeless people living in the streets can be considered as one of the many problems besetting the population of any city as it affects both directly and indirectly the entire citizenry . People freely roaming the streets can not only lessen the value of the imagery of the city . It can also pose threats or hazards to health and sanitation . Resolving this `crisis ' should be one of the immediate prerogatives

of any local government which should be addressed with the needed resources and solutions . The private sphere can also contribute to the resolution of this problem and the rest of the others that go along with it . I believe homeless people have the chance to recover and survive the ordeal of being homeless given the ample help from the public and private sectors One of the many cities around the world facing this challenge is Miami Beach

Miami Beach , a radiant city located in South Florida , USA , has become one of the most spoken cities for its beautiful natural beaches and environment as well as its unique restaurants and night clubs . South Beach strip is known around the world as the paradise getaway . Beyond the radiant sun , beach , sand and surf , there is so much going on in this city that apparently , residents and tourists are not focusing on . In my own experience , this city is not completely perfect as exemplified and illustrated in advertising . The streets and coasts serve as the home for local people who struggle with their daily lives in to survive Homeless people have even taken over some spots in the area

In Miami Beach , the vision that is approached from a tourist and resident 's point of view is positive . Especially people who only know Miami through postcards , attraction with the depicted imageries of Miami is not unusual . Tourists from afar flock to Miami Beach bearing the belief that the City 's beaches , clubs and streets reflect their dreams of paradise . However , the reality of the seemingly glorious paradise is completely turned around when the cameras zoom in to reveal its avoided truths

Miami looks so rich and glitzy in the movies , yet poverty abounds in reality . Poor people sleep on the beach and streets . The action of ignoring reality is seen as normal through most residents and tourists of the city . My family and I have lived in Miami Beach for a couple of months and I am just noting the reality etched on it . A long term resident , Georgina Santiago , still doesn 't have the Beach in focus . She claims "Living for twenty years in Miami Beach I can say I love the atmosphere , the beauty of the beach when I wake up every morning and look out the window , the restaurants I have very close to my place , the night life .
