History History The recent US war with Iraq can be considered as an attempt to accomplish the unfinished agenda of the US , of completing the conquest direct or direct , of strategic regions of the world . That the US possessed such ambition has been proved by various earlier wars such as Vietnam War and the recent Iraq war . In to interfere in the Middle East , the US needed a pretext , which it could obtain in the form of September 11 , 2001 attack . It has been argued by a scholar that this can

be considered as the `new Pearl Harbor (Griffin , 2004 ) It is well known to the students of history that the `old ' Pearl Harbor incident compelled the seemingly reluctant US war leaders to enter the Second World War ultimately leading to nuclear bomb attack on the Japanese cities .
