It affects and touches our everyday life in various ways Electricity is used in our homes for lighting , operation of appliances cooking , heating as well as cooling our homes . Electricity is also used in the area of transport in to move cargoes and passengers over long distances in only a matter of hours . Transmission of data and voice communication through our telephones

and computers in real time cannot be possible without electricity . Power in electrical form is also used in industries for the manufacture of various products . If electricity did not exist , most of the things that we do today would be impossible
It is an undeniable fact that the electricity we are using today is being produced using coal and fossil fuels which leave harmful effluents to the environment destroying the ozone layer that cause global warming Moreover , fossil fuels we burn to produce electricity is not renewable and time will come in the very near future that it will be exhausted What will happen to this world without electricity ? Concerned scientists and people all over the globe are exhausting every effort to reduce greenhouse gasses .
