Introduction

Education is a very important aspect to any human being . Education has been offered in various ways , and with the coming of the technology , it has as well been incorporated in the system . Currently , the use of the internet has been incorporated in the education system being an important information and knowledge provider . It thus implies that with the use of the internet , education can not only be limited to space or time , as with online learning

, this can be offered at any place or time This means that for schools to maintain their position in society , they need to adopt the changing technology for their curriculum system Technology can be used in schools to add up more challenging curriculums that might not be easily handled by the traditional means . School curriculums are very important in shaping both the teachers , students and other stakeholders of the school . Therefore , all the stakeholders have a say in the development of both the written and hidden curriculums of the school

Hidden Curriculum

At many instances , teachers will follow the written curriculum to teach the students . There are however the hidden curriculums that might be past to the students by the teachers , without them knowing or knowingly Students on the other hand might be able to realize quickly the hidden curriculums that are being past to them . This is because when the hidden curriculums are past to the students , they might make them develop some behaviors that they generally do not like . Hence , to get approval , it makes them to have to adapt to situations that are not contrary to the rules of the school (Gatto , 2005

There are several social norms that schools promote to their students through hidden curriculum . For instance , maintaining punctuality , being patient , and respecting the hierarchy authority . When the school promotes the socialization codes , it may end up affecting how the students learn . Teachers have a great impact on the information they pass to their students , especially the young ones , who will mostly try to conform to what their teachers feel is correct . When learning , the young students are usually more curious and would mostly air their feelings rather than remain quiet . Hidden curriculums at some instances put limits on how the students will behave mostly in classroom , and in school in general . This might be a big hindrance on how the student will adopt the learning . On the other hand , hidden curriculum might also be a hindrance on how the teachers carry on their activities since they might be forced to deal with training students on life long behaviors instead of enhancing the learning procedure itself . Many teachers also feel that it is not their duty to indulge in teaching the students socialization techniques , but rather it is a responsibility of the parents to do it at home (Gatto , 2005
