As well , the prevalence of homosexuality and the antibiotic resistance of STD causing bacteria exacerbate the infection transmissions . Furthermore , the abrupt increased in STD cases during the early part of 1980s was attributed not only to the unparalleled socioeconomic development and industrialization of Thailand but much even more on the proliferation of the commercial sex industry , rural to urban area migration , and sexual behavior changes (Limpaphayom , 1996 . By keeping these scenarios in minds , health officials can estimate the susceptibility of Thais to STDs
