Keeping this fact in view every nation tries to maximize their efforts to ensure the health of their citizens . The US government is at forefront in this effort However , over the period of time , it has become clear that providing health care facilities may become a burden on the government too

US is one of the nations in the world has highest ratio of their health care expenditures to their GDP . According to statistics , the US health care expenditures account for almost 15 of their GDP , which is more than any other nation in the world . Likewise , US also excel in terms of per capita health care expenditures . Not only in comparison with other nations , the trend is in itself growing in US , currently 15 of the GDP and expected to reach the mark of over 19 by 2016
