The aspect of health and wellness has become a great concern especially in today 's world of medical anxieties . Because of such dilemma , many health programs have been structured to cater to the needs of the general public , one of them is health promotion

Basically , health promotion is defined by the World Health Organization to be that of a process or action in disseminating info to all the scopes of the human population (WHO , 2008 . The promotion is actually a set of strategies in which the endorsement is delegated to

On a technical aspect , the promotion is conducted by using different channels of relaying information . The most common forms are included in efforts to increase public awareness , education , development of communities , passing a regulation and implementing policies

Basically Health promotion and disease prevention are intertwined in terms of its goals . However , there are some technical aspects which separate the two ideas . Practically , disease prevention is a form of health promotion . So in effect , all disease prevention principles are considered to be forms of health promotion while the converse may not always be true

Health promotion has a more general approach in sending out the benefits of having good health status . It is composed of a specific idea that people have the rights to maintain a healthy lifestyle under ideal circumstances . This idea will then branch out to different specific principles in to achieve the goal of people . The process does not really involve identifying the current standing of the population about its health status . Rather , it concentrates on a specific aspect to take part in the overall wellness of the people
