about smoking in general . The second part gives the reader a slight overview about the supposed origin of the cigarette smoking habit . It also mentions theoretical assumptions or estimation as to what time the habit of smoking was initially considered as a repast in civilized countries of the world like France , The United Kingdom and others

The third part of the work describes in detail the harmful chemical components found in the cigarette smoke , why it is dangerous and an explanation and comparison of these substances to other toxic substances being used by man for everyday utility purposes

The fourth part explains the current situation of society , especially where the smoking women are concerned . This section discusses the possible effects of smoking on pregnant women and the fetus they are carrying , the possible illnesses they may contract because of this habit , and the increasing odds of contracting illnesses because of cigarette usage . This section also contains some graphs that explains through empirical trend of the things

The fifth part contains some useful information that explains methods or ploys which must be employed to help a smoker cope up with the seemingly difficult task of quitting the cigarette smoking hobby . The sixth and final part of this contains various conclusions as well as actualizations as to what needs to be done by society as a whole to diminish the onslaught of smoking II . Introduction

Smoking has been a hard habit to break , its main component , the Tobacco leaf has been documented to exist as early as 6000 B .C in the Americas Although , tobacco leaf was supposed to have existed at such an early date , its usage as a smoking medium was only initiated sometime around 1000 B .C . Smoking was only a habit known only to the Native Americans until the 15th century , around this time the first English colonizers either Sir Joseph Hawkins or Sir Francis Drake was said to have brought the first tobacco as well as the habit of smoking to England .
