One of the greatest achievements that the medical industry nowadays can really boasts of , is its implementation of the philosophy of Managed Care , as the best means to manage ones illness and or health . Over the years , a significant advancement to the quality of mental health care has been seen alongside the improvements , in terms of the services

rendered and the programs adapted all of which has proven beneficial to patients . Over the years , the proposed notion that mental illness is strictly confined to the solace of facility institute has drastically been changed with the advent of co-therapies and collaborative care This is the main thrust in the philosophy proposed by managed care . The idea that ones , illness can be greatly addressed and cured by a group of various sciences and disciplines integrated into a program of care . A goal oriented , objective driven approach that revolutionized the way mental illness is approached upon . Thus brings us to the main concern of this . That which answers the ways in which mental health care and its programs are being affected by managed care . The succeeding paragraph will attempt to establish the very core of the question

Service Integration

One of the ways in which the manage care philosophy affects the mental health care service is through service integration . We all know that managed care is the sum are rolled into a goal oriented , objective specific design approach which enables all aspect of care to be provided to a specific demographic , and in this particular case - mental illness . There are two ways in which manage care impacts mental health service , and one of which is of the disadvantage part where the collaborative service is being made available for the patient that entails a question of standardization of what should be and what ought to be (Salzer , Et . al 2007 . This creates delineation in the availability of programs according to private or public sector . There are wide ranges of programs available in the private health care sector however people need to shed more from their pocket in to maximize what they can get In contrast , the public sector somehow is limited and constrained to what is only available to them . Therefore manage care does and could not establish certain standard in this aspect .
