Hamlet Essay

Hamlet is William Shakespeare 's longest play , and is a tragedy . The summary of the plot is brief and simple , although the play does elaborate on emotions and thoughts through soliloquies and word play . In this play , the author explores ideas of dreams versus reality , and the discrepancies that this unearths in the plot . The play is actually full of discrepancies and inconsistencies borne from the main plot , which is that Hamlet aims to take revenge on Claudius for killing his father . In for him to accomplish this mission given

to him by the Ghost , he undertakes several schemes , including feigning madness and staging a play to observe Claudius ' reaction . It ends in several deaths , including Hamlet 's , which is really quite understandable and even deserving if one observes the text properly
