The objectives and the achievement of the organization are wholly dependent on its staff and the whole process of managing the staff has been left entirely to this function . For this basic reason the Human Resource Management has gone through dramatic transformations from its tradition function of personal management to integrate other functions

like organizational strategy to fully incorporate it into the business function of the organization (Bernadin Russel 1993 p34
Before answering the question about the importance of the management integrating organizational strategy and Human Resource Management it is very important to define these salient terms (Baird , Schneier Beatty1988 p42
Human resource management can be defined as that function in the organization that is fully responsible for the recruitment , management retention and compensation of the people who work within the organization . Thus Human Resource Management as a function within the organization deals with the core activities of hiring , remunerating performance management development of the organization , safety motivation and wellness of employees , benefits administration communication and training . The human resource management within the organization serves an important role in bridging the gap between the management on one hand and the employees on the other (Bernadin Russel 1993

Organization strategy on the other hand defines the organization relative to its environment . This definition encompasses the ability to define the core competencies of the organization which enables the organization distinguish itself from the competition . This enables the organization create value for itself and for its customers . The success of the organization is wholly dependent on the impact of the strategic positioning and direction of the organization (Brewster , Sparrow Vernon 2007 p122
Therefore since the strategy the company adopts is all about the interaction between the organization and the environment , it can only succeed when there is an effective gathering , filtering and the synthesizing of the organization 's information about itself and the environment within its operation . This would also include how the future and the current development would affect it
In the modern day business , the environment is changing rapidly which calls for professionals in the human resource management field to look for ways or integrating the organizational strategy and goals with the varied talents , skills and knowledge that exist amongst the individuals within the particular organization (Brewster ,Sparrow Vernon 2007 p122
The HR function within the organization has continued to experience expansion which goes beyond the administrative and operational roles and goes ahead to include more strategic responsibilities (Brewster ,Sparrow Vernon 2007 p123
These changes also means that the Human resource practitioners are more and more called upon to take up new responsibilities which would include redesigning the job or work , developing performance management systems , managing change , and designing and restructuring organizations (Brewster ,Sparrow Vernon 2007 p123
