Entropy can actually be exemplified in two general aspects , which is either entropy increasing or entropy decreasing . Temperature relationship between objects in contact can only happen according to the two-stated aspect as what the general law of science general energy states . To further elaborate this idea , consider a practical example of increasing entropy which is the ice melting . In this case , the object of ice is basically colder than the actual room temperature thus , they have an imbalance energy ratio . When the two objects contact each other , they try to have temperature equilibrium by one losing heat and the other accepting heat . In this case , entropy occurs as the room becomes colder and the ice becomes warmer thus , melting from its solid state

The practical application of this thermodynamic concept is indeed beneficial for the society in many ways . On of which is in the aspect of conservation of energy .
