Introduction The Mountain Lodge resort is one of the best hotels in Melbourne Australia . It is owned by the Hudson family and currently being managed by two brothers of this family . With over 80 staff , the hotel has expanded its operations to many other locations in Australia and most of the tasks have been going on smoothly especially at the tenure of the Paul Wendt who was the resident manager in the hotel . After his resignation 12 months later , all operations failure as the brothers thought that they would propel the hotel

themselves without the professional assistance . Apart from managerial problems , the hotel is faced with challenges of recruitment , selection , retention , evaluation planning , control and general organizational culture within the hotel
Problems and issues facing Mountain Lodge Resort
Unskilled employees and recruitment problems : The Company through the management of the Hudson brothers has failed to get hold of skilled employees to run through all the sectors of the hotel . Lack of properly trained employees automatically affects the financial achievement of the organization with relevance to quality of services offered especially at the restaurant . The Hudson brothers have completely failed to ensure that there is professionalism in selection and recruitment of qualified employees . Lack of a qualified hotel manager : A good manager , just like Wendt , was able to harmonize all sectors within the organization . First of all , to have things done , the brothers cannot effectively carry out their duties as the managers of the hotel without professional advice .
