Human immune system is an extremely efficient mechanism for fending off illnesses and diss that inflict us this mechanism is brought about by number of components that constitute the fabric of immune system This system of paramount importance is vulnerable to many agents like aging and HIV attack etc . AIDS is a phenomenon that involves series of diseases and medical complications that systematically lead the person to constant depreciation and death . It is an epidemic that allegedly originated from Africa and has taken the world

by storm . Each year millions of people die from it around the world and the alarming ratio of people infected with AIDS is also on the rise . AIDS is

caused by a retrovirus HIV that basically target the immune system and is permanent in nature that is once allowed in the system does not depart at all and distort the functioning of system till it becomes no longer viable and give in resulting in the eventual death of the patient . Though a lot of research and resources have been employed to find the break through for it but the problem seems far from being resolved

Human body is endowed with natural defense mechanism that allows it to withstand and overcome the adverse affects of environment and circumstances and this all-important mechanism is called `Immune system of the body . The working principle that runs the system is first of all it locates the malevolent agents in the body and then systematically destroys them to nullify their affect thus managing a crucial guard that is most of the time imperceptible to us . Immunity rendered by this system is essentially of two types based upon the modality of functioning one is innate or natural and the other is acquired or adaptive . [1] The fundamental is the innate immunity that indiscriminately seeks to destroy all the potentially harmful materials in the body while the second that is the acquired immunity is somewhat specific in nature and defensive stance is taken due to a substance called antigen . It has property not only to recognize but to keep the record of certain types of antigens so that whenever encountered in future more tough response is accorded to them . Natural and adaptive immunity both work in synergy to construct a strong defense that serves the vital purpose of keeping the body sound and healthy . As long as the immune system of the body is efficient and functioning properly person enjoys treasure of health but when the system is weakened for whatever reason that might be aging or some other factor like AIDS the immune system becomes on road to perpetual decline and the damage incurred is irreversible
