Graduate school letter of intention

A career in nursing has for many years been the goal that I pursued with all enthusiasm and effort that I have ever put in a career-related endeavor . At the point where I am now , I am confident that a nursing program at . is the best way to realize this ambition in a way that will add most value to my professional development and potential to contribute to community development . Realizing all the difficulties that will accompany me in case I am admitted to the program , I nevertheless want to follow this path

and make the most of my nursing education

My career in nursing began with the position of a brand new nurse in ICU . Today , years after this date , I still find that to be the job I am best at . My very first assignment was one at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock in the surgical intensive care unit where I was exposed to all the challenges of nursing life in a highly intense , fast-paced environment where I had to deal with a wide variety of cases including post operative open heart patients and other major vascular surgical patients , neurosurgical patients , trauma patients , and other critically ill cases . While coping with such a wide array of situations was a clear challenge to someone new to the profession , it was a good school that taught me to make independent decisions , to think on my feet and fostered my dedication to the occupation that became a critical aspect of my life

started as a brand new nurse in ICU and . I started at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock in the surgical intensive care unit---a very intense challenging unit where I worked with post operative open heart patients and other major vascular surgical patients , neurosurgical patients trauma patients , and other critically ill paitients . After working there for 3 years I was a traveling nurse continuing to work in the ICU . I traveled for two years , coming back to Lubbock to work at University Medical Center in the surgical ICU , medical ICU , and cardiovascular ICU Currently I work at Lubbock Heart Hospital working in the ICU taking care of mostly open heart post op patients . Because it is a small hospital I am able to help out in other areas as well , including the OR and recovery where I have been able to work more closely with the anesthesiologists and surgeons--this has confirmed my desire to work as an anesthetist . I am fascinated by the skills required of the anesthetist and the special relationship they can have with the patient I work closely with an anesthesiologist that is one of the greatest men I know . He is so kind and gentle with his patients and preoperatively he makes sure his patients are comfortable and understand what is going on He will drop everything for any concern a patient may have . He also visits them postoperatively and forms a solid relationship with them When they are required to come back for another surgery...
