There are many definitions , understandings and interpretations of the word grace , ranging from a word used to describe the attitude of a model on the catwalk to a short prayer that is said before meals in most homes . However , this paper will discuss the subject of grace as it is understood in the Christian context and the original definition of the word as used in the Bible . The first and most

basic definition of the word grace is the gifts of God to people (Ryrie 1963 . These may include anything that human beings enjoy ranging from a simple meal to the moonlight . Basically , the very fact that one is alive is considered a gift and thus the product of God 's grace . The uniqueness of humankind over the rest of the created things and the fact that in the book of Genesis in the Bible God refers to His creation as good both mean that it is full of grace

Grace also means the enabling power in the gifts that are often perceived in the intelligence and skills of people in terms of talents and special activities (Yancey , 1997 . This means that it is grace that gives such people or creature the ability to inspire certain emotions of delight and enjoyment among the audience or recipients of the works of such gifts .
