The First Leader of the Free World

I . Introduction

The life that George Washington have lived serves as an inspiration to modern Americans and people from all over the world . Throughout his existence he was able to exhibit great values of a leader and a revolutionary . His efforts to free America from its English colonizers made him worthy of being emulated by future generations

From his roots as a Virginia planter to being the head of the Virginia

br militia to being the first President of the United States of America Washington was able to do these three different roles with no difficulty . Because of his passion and dedication in his chosen endeavours , he was able to successfully accomplish all his goals

It may seem that George Washington 's achievements are too arduous to follow and unsuitable to practice in the contemporary society but in reality his life experiences and accomplishments are timeless . This means that Washington 's actions are quintessential in the world of politics and patriotism . No matter what era or period it is , his legacy of establishing the first American revolutionary government will forever be embedded in the history of the United States of America . For without him , the US will not be marked as today 's most power country in the world . Overall , George Washington had made his mark and he will continue to inspire people from all ages to do great things and to reach for their utmost potential in service for their family , friends and fellow countrymen

II . Historical Background

The founding father of the US government was born on February 22 , 1732 The ancestry of the Washington family can be traced with English origins . In the 1200s , a man named William de Hertburn bought a land called the manor of Washington ' and based on traditions during that time , he used the name of the estate as his own family name . Since then the Washington family grew and expanded in Great Britain and in the United States . For those who immigrated to America , a small clan of Washington settled in Westmoreland County in Virginia

The father of George Washington was Augustine Washington . He had a first family before he met the mother of George , Mary Ball who was characterized as a woman of middle stature ' simple , high spirited intellectual and strong character . Augustine 's first marriage gave him three sons and a daughter . When he remarried at the age of 36 years old he was blessed with six children wherein George was the eldest Unfortunately at an early age , George was already exposed to big responsibilities such as taking care of his mother because of the unexpected death of his father . Because of that experience , he was able to develop morally upright virtues and a resilient personality which have played a vital role in his quest of being the principal leader of the free world (Arnold 8-14
