The article I chose to write about covers the complex of gene technology . Written by two world-famous researchers in the area of both engineering and chemical and gene technology , the article discusses how a form of gene therapy will most likely soon be the new form of therapy available . It will soon be possible to completely eradicate serious diseases because of gene therapy

A series of investigations have been done to show how liposomal transfection vectors , a form of gene therapy , can be used to help progress specific diseases

. The article states , Gene expression and appropriate physiological effects have been observed following lipoplex-mediated administration of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane receptor gene into the nose and lungs of cystic fibrosis patients This means that research in the area is so promising that when administered to patients with the degenerative disease cystic fibrosis almost all patients had (or will show ) some signs of improvement . The article discusses in depth how non-viral gene therapy can play a large role in finding viral-mimicking structural components that can , in turn lead to systemic and cellular barriers

Because of the extremely complex nature of gene therapy , it is impossible to know its bounds , and what can actually happen to patients if it is administered . However , we do currently know that there are virtually no limitations to the amount of success that can be found if enough research is done in this field
