I Am Strongly Against Gay Marriages

I am a traditionalist . While I try not to discriminate against other people , I do believe that some things are sacred . For me , marriage is one of those things . This essay is designed to make three points : Gay marriage is detrimental to families and children , gay marriages has , and will , negatively impact politics , and gay marriage is not recommended per The Bible

Heterosexual marriages coincide with my idea of family

values Homosexuality causes stress in families . S . Jayson wrote , the 2002 International Social Survey Programme , shows marriage is at its weakest in nations where support for gay marriage is strongest (para . 25 Perhaps when a person has homosexual thoughts , in a country where homosexuality is supported , the man or woman is more likely to divorce his or her spouse , to pursue other sexual alternatives . In a country where there is little or no support of homosexuality , that same person might learn to deal with his or her homosexual feeling while remaining married , and not being separate from the children born into the marriage

One-third is a significant number , and it is not reported how many children feel alone even sometimes . Odds are that including sometimes , the number of children who feel isolated due to the homosexual choices of their fathers , would be dramatically higher

Jayson 's USA Today article featured David Blankenhorn , a 51-year-old author and advocate for his belief that children need fathers Blankenhorn is quoted as saying that he does not condemn homosexuality or committed gay relationships . His problem is that the best institutional friend children have is marriage , and if grown-ups make a mess of it , the children are going to suffer (para . 4 . Blankenhorn was also quoted as having said that he has stayed away from the of gay marriage for years , but now , as president and founder of the Institute for American Values in New York , he wants to spread the message that children are the innocent victims of homosexuality

Another negative issue that gay marriages bring to the forefront , is how politics will be affected by same-sex marriage . In The Political Power of Lesbians , Gays , and Bisexuals ' Kenneth Sherrill wrote fewer than one tenth of 1 of all elected officials in the United States are...
