Introduction

At present , many people believe that it is the responsibility of the society to restrain children from entering the justice system , while others may believe that the duty of the parents to guide their children Nevertheless , since psychologists , parents , law makers and communities significantly take part in safeguarding juveniles , it is apparent that the responsibility is ever changing as it entails diverse players . To recognize

what the future of juvenile justice will be , there are a number of factors that should be considered , such as prevention programs , mental health , racial disparity , and reform or detention programs

Recommendations

First , in to end cases of racial disparity , the justice system needs to implement solutions , such as organizing an oversight committee which will be authorized to put a stop to discriminatory attitude inside the court room as well as during policing activities . The committee of this nature will be tasked to discourage law enforcement officials from unjustly managing minority youths

Second , the justice system needs to shift from locking up children to appropriately evaluating their underlying mental health issues along with providing them treatment in a mental health facility . Basically mental health programs must be made available to every child and not just to those who have committed serious crimes . Juvenile courts need to address these issues by using comprehensive and culturally responsive judgments and community and family based treatment interventions...
