Future Directions

A General Studies major is designed for students who have attained college qualifications but are yet to decide what specific course to pursue . A typical General Studies degree may include subjects like biology , psychology , a foreign language , political science , geometry history , writing and theatre . Clearly , it is not inclined to any particular branch of humanities or sciences

I intend to pursue a General Studies course because I am torn as to which course to choose between History , Social Studies or Philosophy . In the event that I am not able to make a

choice , I may decide to complete a full bachelor 's degree program in General Studies . The most appealing aspect of a General Studies degree program is that I get to choose the classes and areas of interest that I deem most appropriate for myself and in the process still earn a college degree

A General Studies degree helps in broadening of expertise across several areas and it lays a sound foundation for whatever career I may choose to pursue in future . This is because a General Studies degree familiarizes one with the subject matter of other degree programs . Also , being conversant with several subjects that do not fall in any single degree program , it would be ideal for me due to the appeal of continuing with the subjects that I like and earning a degree out of the subject
