Abstract

The purpose of this study is to scrutinize the theory of the Oedipus complex , a concept which was developed by Sigmund Freud . The said concept was developed in to elucidate the foundation of precise neuroses in the early years . On May 6 , 1856 in a little town called Freiberg in Moravia , a baby-boy was born named Sigmund Freud . Freud 's father was a wool merchant having a sharp and a good sense of humor . On the other hand , his mother was a dynamic woman- the second wife of her husband and 20 years younger . The second wife has given birth to her first son , Sigmund Freud , when she was still 21 years old . Sigmund Freud has two elder half-brothers and has six younger brothers and sisters . When he turned four or five , his family transferred to Vienna , where he spent most of his life . Sigmund Freud was a genius child and at all times head of his class . When he has grown up , he decided to enroll in a medical school was one of the feasible choices for an intelligent Jewish boy in Vienna during those times . Freud turned out to be participating in research under the supervision of a physiology professor Ernst Brucke .
