In to state that an individual possesses freedom , it is imperative for the individual to possess autonomy which entails the capability to formulate decisions for one 's self while in the possession of a rational mind . Simply put , it means that autonomy and rationality

There are instance however when an individual , although he is in possession of both autonomy and rationality , may be placed in a situation wherein he is prevented from practicing his freedom .
