The country is currently engaged in a sovereignty dispute with China concerning some islands located in the Tumen and Yalu rivers . It is also involved in periodic military incidents with South Korea in the Yellow Sea as a result of the latter 's claim that their maritime boundary is the Northern Limiting Line .
