Marian Wright Edelman , the founder and president of Children 's Defense Fund is a leader who has fought for the rights of many disadvantaged children in America for a long time . She is a leader who is seen to embrace collaboration with other people and organizations which are willing to make a difference in the lives of children who face poverty disability , racial discrimination and neglect . Her attributes demonstrate boldness , commitment , diligence and good organizational skills which have

led to the organization producing wonderful results in its agenda . Her background has shaped her into a person who is devoted towards rendering service to other people and being the voice of many children who need assistance . She has advocated for greater parental care and protection of children as well as the prevention of youth pregnancy . Her ability to lobby for legislation for child programs and to manage resources backed by a staff of lawyers , policy experts professionals in community relations and experienced researchers has propelled Children 's Defense Fund to greater heights
