One Foot in the Grave is a sitcom series from 1990 to 2000 . It was written by David Renwick , creating a character of Victor Meldrew . The success of the series was proudly made by the BBC , that it was an experimental sitcom that became a hit in Britain The story started in a grumpy , accident prone Victoer Meldrew played by Richard Wilson , takes early retirement and finds he has far too much time on his hands . His long suffering wife Margaret played by Annete Crosbie and neighbours Patrick Trench played by Angus Deayton

just have to grin and bear it . And their family friend was Jean Warboys played by Doreen Mantler . The last episode Victor was killed in a hit and run tragedy by a driver and Margaret discovered the perpetrator but the ending is indefinite as to what she does about
The sitcom was run for six series over ten years and the other four episodes were redone and it was inspired by a novel . This sitcom was voted as the 10th best sitcom it shows this experimental sitcom was a hit and adapted by the viewers in Britain
