Excerpts from War Talk
War Talk by Arundhati Roy There had been many talks about war and the like . Historical origins and such were the most prolific issues found in magazines , tabloids newss , and books . Lengthy discussions and various arguments have been presented and predictions are sometimes made . Arundhati Roy , an Indian novelist and activist had her own voice spoken out to the world like the many who feels the need to be heard of her opinions about this particular issue that had been bothering the world Globalization - an international phenomenon that is promoted by the

br United States - is the root of all war . There are other various issues that had been discussed by Roy in her collection of essays in the book War Talk ' but it can be observed that she put as much emphasis on the influence of the US government among the numerous nations through its foreign policies and global capitalism that create a root in its every allied country that instead of lifting it up from poverty , drowns them into an endless suffering wherein only the US government benefits
Roy (2003 ) thought that globalization do good only to the wealthy thus making more and more powerful . With reference to her country , India Roy (2003 ) showed the huge gap between those who live with more wealth than those who are deprived of which . As a result of too much power - that which is obviously observed in the American government - is abuse wherein those that are directly and largely affected are the lower and the middle class community
In connection to globalization , racism may never be eliminated , on the other hand will become worse than it already is . Ethnicity and injustice are but manifestations of the power that the rich had in their hands These manifestations are observed through various situations that are flagrant in the society today , most significantly in her country own country , India . Some of these incidents were the deprivation of the lower and middle class community to liberally express their human rights . Public resources , which are supposed to offer a wider range of opportunities for the people are privatized thus sets a very limited access to various services that are meant to be free . The role of the media is at the same time suppressed such that their speech freedom is controlled in to protect their selfish attributions . Such suppression marks the blinding of the people allowing them only to see what the government wants them to see and hides the horrible outcomes which put the lives of the people and the nations at risk
The issues in the Middle East and Bush 's reaction after the September 11 incident were just illustrations of how the American government is more than willing to take the risk of subjecting other nations into the a raging war against each other in to attain its desired global leadership . United States government 's militarization as a response to various global destabilizations only worsens the social issues that have been present...
