Poverty is undoubtedly among the biggest problems that the modern world faces today . Poverty has adverse effect on the welfare of the world population and its eradication is an essential problem that must be tackled by cooperation from all . The problem of poverty has seen the rise of many global organizations such as the United Nation (UN UNICEF , WHO , and Red Cross among others , which are dedicated to helping the poor . Noble

initiatives like the Millennium Development Goals have been set up by these organizations in conjunction with all countries to help eradicate poverty . The plight of poor people all over the world is therefore a pressing need that needs to be effectively addressed . The aim of this paper is to provide an in-depth understanding of this problem by assessing how it is manifested and the effects it has on man It will illustrate how poverty is a stigma that can deprive individuals the right to live in dignity just because they cannot afford it (Fikert Corbett , 2009 . It will give an analysis of various factors that contribute to the problem . An interesting finding is that the factors that cause poverty further contribute to its perpetuation and act as a hindrance to its eradication .
