Events that led to W.W. II
Causes and Events leading to WWII The end of World War I put Germany in a position of being responsible for the war . The Treaty of Versailles , which was signed in November 1918 instead of brining peace , was intended to punish Germany as its main terms harsh putting ordinary Germans suffer . The contents of the treaty put Germany under the restriction limited military and Germany was also forced to set free its territories in Africa , Pacific and Europe . The most destructive issue was the war damages that Germany has to pay in

the shape of vast amount of money as war fines . Looking at the strict conditions , it was natural for Germans to take this treaty terms as unfair and biased . German people protested in anger as they considered treaty as an insult to German nation as a whole . From Germany 's point of view , the conference in Paris was meant to discuss peace that did not take place
As German were put under humiliating conditions , German people were looking for a leader who could rescue them . The rise of Hitler provided this chance to break the treaty rebuild the German army and re-occupy the Rhineland . Upon this rebel act of Germany , the League of Nations did not do anything on the assumption that pushing Germany in a harsh way would fail the peace efforts . Instead of taking any practical action the League sent only protest , thus it can be said the League of Nation had no teeth to bite Hitler 's
The problem was in inherent in the formation of League of Nation . The League of Nation was formed by the nations who won the World War I United States was the only nation among the victorious nations that made the League of Nation less important . As a result , when Japan bombed Manchuria in 1931 , the League did not take any affirmative action . After Japan resignation many frictions sprung up between its members that made League of Nation quite inactive . In 1935 , Hitler and Mussolini became dictators of their nations and started to gain territorial expansions again , the League was unable to take any action . League was virtually functionless as no world power was interested in functioning of the Leagues
The German invasion of Rhineland made France alarmed and it sought to seek allies , aligning itself with USSR . The absence of action from the Allies provided Hitler confidence to take more outrageous actions . He continued his Lebensraum (space for living ) campaign , invading Austria and Czechoslovakia , and slaughtering minorities in Germany . In Asia Japan was also bent on conquering lands in Asia . The Japanese invasions of Asian countries was aimed to confiscate natural resources and the only available was to take away it Western Powers such as America Dutch , British and Australian colonies
The Japan pretext was protection of Asian countries that was far from true in reality Japan was imply stealing Western colonies and West could do nothing , but just watch it . The US did not wish to intervene...
