Second , semi-centralized system for personnel ranked E-5 and E-6 implies that the unit 's recommendations are important but the central authority of army takes final decision as to who is promoted which depends upon a number of factors determining the success of army men . Finally , there is a centralized system for personnel ranked E-7 through E-9 . These promotions are

in the hands of the top military commanders who sit on a board which decides as to who can be promoted and who can be not depending on a number o factors including the number of vacancies
Preliminary Problem Statement
As mentioned earlier that US Army is a huge organization where it has to manage a group of more than a million soldiers spread around the US and other countries . The challenge is to offer rewards which truly motivate the army personnel to work harder toward the greater cause of their organization . Therefore , this will seek to answer the question : is the current reward system effective and does it have a positive impact on the performance of army personnel
Research Plan
The will derive the necessary information from both the secondary and primary sources . Initial research would be conducted through a review of currently available literature . After the literature review , a survey will be conducted from a sample consisting of both the currently serving and former army personnel . The survey will seek to identify whether the army personnel are happy with reward system and does it enhance the workings of serving personnel .
