After the September 1 , 2001 attacks on our country , by the al Qaeda organization of Osama bin Laden , George Bush talked about a global War and has been avid on his course at fighting against terrorism . After the memorable attack on New York City , he explained that the road ahead for Americans would be difficult but talked about prevailing as he remained active in keeping the subject of terrorism against Americans on the forefront of his agenda

George Bush said that his greatest responsibility as President was to protect the American people and he has remained dedicated to fighting terrorism in Iraq to secure a safer world

Another conflict that George Bush is faced with is drug abuse in which he unveiled a 2 .8 billion proposal to curb illegal drug usage . His campaign announced the drug-policy speech and addressed the fact that parents needed the tools they needed in decreasing drug usage by their children . This campaign proved that George Bush was willing and able in helping in the fight against drugs

Results from a national survey on drug use on September 8 , 2006 said that drug use among teenagers was on the decline , while the overall drug use is moving to a lower percentage , as well

There was an overall decrease in illegal drug use among American youth between the years 2002-2004 . Marijuana use decreased by 7 percent among young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 during this same time frame
