Running head : ETHICAL ARGUMENT Ethical Argument [Author 's Name] [Tutor 's Name] [Class] Abstract A wealth of literature was written on the negative effects of polygamy on the values and norms to which American society is to adhere . Polygamy is considered by many to be an outdated approach to marriage , a sign of illiteracy and the symptom of complete non-religiosity . Hardly anyone ever tried to look deeper into what polygamy is and how it may work in broader communities . It should be noted , that the life of many polygamic

br families is much different from the way we imagine it , and determining whether polygamy ethical or not is complicated by the need to be torn between Christian beliefs and the norms of autonomy , choice , and self-realization . In reality , polygamy is not as bad as many try to describe it . In many aspects , it is due to polygamy that a person can be granted sufficient freedom to choose the most preferable form of marriage or co-existence . Given the problems developed societies experience with regard to the declining childbirth , as well as the growing number of abandoned and non-married women , polygamy could potentially resolve a whole set of issues , being a matter of autonomy better rates of childbirth , improved happiness , and improved family stability
