Equity Plan in Mathematics

Mathematics is one of the subjects that most of the students have difficulties . They find it hard to understand different concepts that they should learn . That is why , many of the students nowadays have negative attitude towards this subject . As a result , across different countries and schools , the continuous depreciation of mathematical attainment has been a great problem of those people who belong to the education sector . But one of the patterns I observed in different classes is the under performing groups in this specific subject which

are composed of marginalized people , the disabled , blacks , poor and those with American-Hispanic ancestry . I believe that education should address the needs not only the upper class but the whole student body This chance of educating people should be open t all sector that is why it is very vital to understand their situation and extend the help to them for them to be able to cope up with the fast changing standards of education in the world

In to address this problem in Bristow Middle School , for me to be able to write an equity plan , I assume the position of the Vice Principal . Being one will make me responsible in resolving problems in solving academic endeavors , behavioral delinquency and other concerns . I will also serve as the liaison with law enforcement , supervising the attendance of the students , looking into their extra-curricular activities , evaluating and critically analyzing certified and qualified personnel that serve the school , and also , assisting in determining and upgrading the master schedule . In doing this task , the Vice Principal can see the effects of this system to the development of the teacher And also , it will help in the collection of relevant data that will determine the groups that were under performing in mathematics and in effect , will determine the necessary actions to be done to minimize the factors that affecting their academic performance . To be able to do this , the Vice Principal should give the teachers the responsibility of disciplining their own students and give the enough sanctions for them to acquire a more positive behavior and attitude towards the subject They should also responsible in giving instructions and developing teaching styles that will encourage them to study harder , such as referral processes and strengthening parent relation . Another role of the Vice Principal is encouraging parents ' interaction for the development and improvement of the school plan . They could hold several social activities that will hear their opinions and on the reasons why their children are under performing and in effect , they can give possible solutions . This way , the Vice Principal will act as Public Relation and should be the most accessible personnel in the school . It is very important to strengthen the relation of the schools and the parents to promote better interaction with the school and the parents thus will foster academic excellence of the under performing group
