Discriminatory practices in the society have spread over to the work environment . Some of these practices are gender based and they are directed at women . Key issues that have been affecting the women include the glass ceiling and the unequal pay for the women . The human resource management with the help of labor organizations has been improving the situation in the work environment and eliminating these gender based practices . Programs have been created together with

cultures that rely more on merit and performance to try and curb the existence of the discriminatory practices facing the women
