The Epic of Gilgamesh

The epic of Gilgamesh is a story of King Gilgamesh and his adventures for the quest for immortality . Gilgamesh is said to be two-thirds god and a third mortal . He was described in the story as the greatest king on earth after the Flood . The only mortal worthy of Gilgamesh 's companion is another super-human in the name of Enkidu

It was said that Enkidu was once a savage man

living in a forest around the kingdom of Gilgamesh . Upon having sexual interaction with a harlot he loses his wild nature and his power but gained knowledge and reason In this part of the story , it can be seen that the women of ancient times are mostly for sexual pleasure of men . There is also part of the story showing how a goddess offers her self to Gilgamesh

The first great adventure of Gilgamesh and Enkidu in the story is their journey to Cedar Forest . In this journey , they are faced with mortal danger . But Gilgamesh , being a so of a goddess , was saved by gods . This part of the story shows the love parents , particularly mothers , give their children . Although the will of the children can not always be controlled by parents , the parents see to it that their children will be safe

In the Cedar Forest , they had an epic battle with the demon guardian of the forest . Both heroes...
