Environmental Studies : Global Warming

Over the history , human beings have caused environmental imbalances in the world . Technological advances discovered by humans caused economic progress at the expense of hastening environmental destruction . Thus human beings should be the first to be responsible of protecting the environment . Even for economic progress sake , environment should still be shielded from danger

Nowadays , the worsening atmospheric conditions in the earth 's surface have been increasingly alarming . Global warming has become one of the most critical problem which has developed due to humans ' neglect of the

environment . Global warming cause an increase in the Earth 's surface temperature , as a product of the increased concentration from the emission of greenhouse gases (Global Warming , 2008 , n .p

Through the years , the evolution of human beings caused the widespread emission of harmful greenhouse gases creating imbalance on the earth 's temperature , thus making a significant impact on the earth 's climate Because of these imbalances , the earth has shown indicative factors of its worsening state . The planet is now experiencing extreme changes in the temperature causing heat waves and unusual warm weather , changes in precipitation patterns , glaciers in the north and south poles have melted , and there has been a significant increase in the sea level and occurrences of coastal flooding (Global Warming : Early Warning Signs 1999 , n .p . Thus , if this situation will not be controlled , global warming is foreseen to cause the spread of diseases , occurrence of droughts and fires , heavy rainfall , flora and fauna range shift and population changes (Global Warming : Early Warning Signs , 1999 , n .p

Though the dynamic interaction between men and environment has always been present , this interaction already caused harmful effects . As human knowledge became more sophisticated and as humans reached the limits of their societal development , it has gone to the point of utilizing large quantity of resources making them unsustainable (Climate and Society n .p . Thus , developing countries must maintain balance on nature 's effect , even with the aim of industry development . Due to these situations compromising the state of environment , countries must work on moderating the emission of greenhouse gases and anticipate its impact on the world 's climate and climate change (Climate and Society , n .p

Majority of the human population around the world has seen and suffered the effects brought by the effects of global warming . Conducting a well-funded research will help solve the problem by acquiring facts and information that will help in to reduce and avoid the anticipated impacts of global warming . Through an intensive research on global warming , we could look for possible ways or strategies that will help reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and prevent the worst effects of the greatest environmental challenge of modern society
