Mathews (2007 ) describes global warming as the rise in the temperatures of the troposphere (lowest layer of the atmosphere ) to levels that harm human , biological and chemical processes that maintain life on earth Mathews (2007 ) adds that this rise is associated with the onset and fast development of industrial revolution throughout the globe .
