However , the process of entering into foreign markets is complicated by respective

These two complications demand that multinational corporations embark on developing strategies of winning in the new markets . In late 1990s , Starbucks , an American coffee retailer and restaurant , reached a pinnacle of success in its domestic market and embarked on expanding into the international market . Just like it happens with many other multinational companies ' international expansion plans , Starbucks so the implacability of owner-operator model it had used successfully in the United States . This resulted to the development of other models of venturing into international markets . The company embarked on joint ventures in Spain , licenses in New Zealand it however , stuck to the model of owning and operating its outlets in the United States .
