Throughout the entire story , Eric speaks with a voice that is close to monotone , and certainly without emotional inflections [This is a little redundant] . Eric 's story tells of a hard childhood riddled with emotion that perhaps he simply lacks the talent of speaking colorfully [So what you are saying is that an emotional childhood can cause an inability to express emotion ?
