1 "A Good Man is Hard to Find " by Flannery O 'Connor and "Where Are You Going , Where Have You Been " by Joyce Carol Oates have common theme and character . In both stories women face violence and though in "A Good Man is Hard to Find " it is an elderly lady and in "Where Are You Going Where Have You Been " it is a teenager , both of them have to be one on one with men threatening their lives . They have to convince them to let them go . And unfortunaly they have not succeeded

. Both stories have southern setting , special emphasis are done on the speech in the dialogues , visiting church and being good man with good manners . But both of them show that being a good man does not help in the cases when you are in such danger and both characters were not prepared for that "A Good Man is Hard to Find " by Flannery O 'Connor and "Where Are You Going , Where Have You Been " by Joyce Carol Oates also show us how the simplest misstep can lead to a disaster beyond all imagining

2 "Saboteur " by Ha Jin , the narration is done from 3d person with limited omniscience it is when the narrator interprets one character 's actions and thoughts and we see the other 's only externally but in the story the thoughts and actions of the other characters are not that important as Mr Chiu is the main protagonist as well as around him the whole plot is build and he is the center of the unusual conclusion of the story . The description of the health state of Mr . Chiu is very important for understanding the plot and that is why in the beginning it is so carefully done "The Five Forty Eight " by John Cheever is developed as a typical story with the two principal characters , Blake and Dent , very well developed There is constant tension from the point where Blake , depicted as egotistical , insensitive and in control , leaves the office to the train 5-48 , all the while being pursued by Dent , the victim , manipulated and cheated . Its chronological form simplifies the story and makes it a fast paced and easy to read . In addition , there is realism injected by actual places like the 5-48 train and Shady Hill . The main male character is accurately portrayed and reveals the themes of story . Blake is shown to be the incorrigible character cheating on his wife many times and preying on weak women and displaying contempt for those who merely broke sumptuary laws . On the other side is Dent being the victim she triumphs by gaining revenge on Blake , when she forces him to the dirt in the ground . Dent is perceived to be the hero (feminist in nature ) for exacting retribution despite her own shortcomings "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas " by Ursula K .
