History has been marked with conflicts that had laid claim to countless lives . But while these conflicts marked dark times , they arose from principles that participants believed was worth fighting for , with some having influenced world affairs and has helped shaped the world as it is today . Some of these conflicts include the English , American and the French Revolutions

The English Revolution broke out in the 1640s from a series of grievances against the rule of King Charles

I . As the King imposed several social , economic and religious reforms without calling the Parliament , it resulted into discomfort between royalty and the commons But when the King needed the assistance of the Parliament to raise funds to finance the war against Scotland , the Parliament demanded several reforms which only increased the tension . Soon , England broke into two factions : the Royalists who supported the rule of the King and the Parliamentarians who supported the Parliament , and the political quarrel progressed into an armed conflict

On the other hand , the American Revolution transpired due to the conflict between the American colonists and Britain . It was based on the precept that all men are created equal and sought independence from the Britain which , due to several circumstances , depended on their colonies to recover from the economic crisis being suffered on the mainland Britain had imposed an increased proportion of taxes and other laws to demonstrate and assert its authority over its colonies .
