Globalization allowed innovation to crop up as people used the concept outlined by globalization to improve their survival tactics . As a result a wide scope of employment was created favoring the availability of dependent workers . Though this meant improvement to the economic status of the US and the common welfare of the society , some employers took this opportunity to discriminate against such employees denying them their rights . The employers relied on the ambiguity and narrowness of the laws

protecting the employees ' rights to defend their actions . The grievances aired by the employees called to the attention of the government to formulate federal employment laws to govern the employer to respect the rights of his employees . By so doing an employment relationship which depicts a link in regards to the legal terms that exist between the employee and the employer , as the employee performs duties for the employer in anticipation of being paid for the services he provided , is defined .
