Introduction

The world is besieged by many different problems happening in a personal , societal and global level . The threat of rape and sexual assault is consistently present , and the emotional , psychological and mental stigma this incident brings to the victims - the woman , and sometimes the unwanted child - creates a social problem that requires the immediate attention of those government and non government organizations . Many countries , may it be first world , second world

third world , developing or poor countries , are struggling to feed its population which is growing out of control in a boom that is made worse by the fact that the world is battling a serious problem in global food crisis . Families battle not just the food crisis , but also the problems that arise from unwanted pregnancy by young couples who are not ready to have a baby , forcing individuals into a situation they are not ready for , not suitable for , in the process replacing the sparks of love with the fire of friction brought about by the pressure of raising a baby at such a very early age . These are all serious problems that require a remedy , and the common factor amongst all of these problems is one thing . It is the inability of the individual to stop pregnancy , and the lack of support and initiative from the government and the society to inform and encourage its people to be knowledgeable in the use of emergency contraception . Because of these serious problems and the possible role of the revitalized campaign for the use of emergency contraception in a national (even global ) level to provide one of the solutions that can remedy these problems , this will discuss emergency contraception , its present state , the pros and cons , why its impact is as it is today and what more needs to be done so that the use and positive effect of emergency contraceptives is maximized and optimized for the betterment of the social conditions
