Introduction

The advent of modernization brought about many changes to our society and challenges to the present generation . It changed the socio-cultural constitution leading to various ill effects of alcohol and other diseases to individuals , groups , and society in general , such changes brought about by the so called socio-cultural fundamentals which forced these individuals , groups , or society to respond positively in to maintain balance and /or equilibrium to society

The Industrial Revolution paved the way for

mass production of various products and services as well as the development of industries across cultures including the famous and a multi-billion dollar--Alcohol industry . Henceforth , our society has never been the same

This will define alcohol , examine the various ill effects of alcohol to the health of the people specifically to the American college students and will also explore the good as well as the bad effects to the American business sector

ALCOHOL 'S DEFINITION

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA ) defines alcoholism as a disease that manifest four symptoms like craving , loss of control , physical dependence , and tolerance .
