The Effectiveness of Sex Abstinence with Teenagers
Running Head : The Effectiveness of Sex Abstinence with Teenagers The Effectiveness of Sex Abstinence with Teenagers Name School /University Introduction Many nations around the world have long been dealing with the negative social effects of uncontrolled sexual activities among teenagers . Such consequences to name a few are the rising incidence of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs , emotional and psychological problems , and unwanted pregnancies . The lack of guidance or misguidance regarding the issue allows many teenagers to take for granted the long-term effect of irresponsible sexual behaviors not in only in

their personal lives but to the society as well . Like for instance in the case of unwanted pregnancies , it has been a common incident where the relationship between mothers and fathers do not work out in the future , thus either eventually leading to separation of parents or lack of harmonious relationship within the family . Unfortunately , the children are the ones who are greatly burdened by their parents ' mistakes , as they are supposed to be the ones who should be providing them emotional stability and maturity in facing the realities of life . Therefore the child has to endure the difficulty of dealing with his /her environment with to the lack of emotional strength or values that they should be getting from their parents . But if the parents themselves are not prepared for such a great responsibility , then this would be the most-likely scenario since the time that they supposedly need to for nurturing their children is unfortunately spent for their own personal adjustment
Therefore this has pushed many undertakings such as local governments enacting certain bills , independent organizations promoting programs and schools providing abstinence education to counteract this issue /s and many of them have succeeded and were even well-applauded for their efforts despite many criticisms that question the effectiveness of such programs in stressing the importance of sex abstinence among teenagers and addressing the problems that it gives to the society
