Human resource Development is an area in an organization that assist employees to improve and further develop their knowledge , skills and abilities at work . It offers employees various opportunities in their careers to train and upgrade their performance at work . It develops a superb workforce that enables the organization to fulfill its objectives

Organization development on the other side is a process that helps an organization to improve its internal capacity to fulfill its

mission effectively . It helps to discover areas of priority to be addressed in an organization and gives further suggestions . It enables employees to take responsibility of whatever they undertake in an organization

Human resource development and Organization development are almost similar and complimentary within the framework of an organization However , sometimes they do not cooperate with each other . This can be due to various reasons . Whereas Human resource development aims at improving individual skills , abilities and knowledge of workers Organization skills sets out to solidify teamwork within an organization . It sets out to enable workers identify areas that need to be developed as a matter of priority . It therefore deals with employees as a team that focuses on structures , operations , procedures interactions and other areas within an organization . In this way the two areas sometimes are at logger heads

However to a very large extent the two need each other . They are complimentary . Employees well developed through Human resource development , are very helpful in Organization development . Human resource professionals need organization development competencies to pool their individual skills and knowledge together to improve the functioning of the organization

Vice versa , organization development professionals need training competencies to improve the quality of organization skills and functioning
