Abstract

Maintaining effective communications skills in the work place is essential to develop a rapport and it also maintains communication to enhance interpersonal relationships . In many businesses , email is an effective tool to communicate more quickly and accurately with others . Recent studies that reviewed the impact of influential communications in business reveal , email is cost effective and allows workers to be more productive

. Some of the various forms of communication devices that are used in companies are Blackberry Personal Digital Assistant (PDA , and Navigation Systems

While email appears to be an effective mechanism for communication in the work place , there is a downside . Electronic communication (e-mail ) does not allow one to develop a rapport like the traditional use of the telephone and face-to-face contact in establishing interpersonal relationships . In examining the disadvantages of the use of email individuals in the work place are receiving more email then they can absorb . However , the outlook application allows information to be personalized and distributed to necessary parties within the company
